Species:  Lodge pole Pine or Engelmann Spruce

Diameter:   Tops 10” to 12” tops is standard, heavy to 12” tops, Maximum top is 16”.  We can provide some loads of 8” to 10” top on special order basis.

Length:    Minimum length is 30’, there is no maximum, and loads will have an overall average length of 40’

Taper:    A maximum of 1 ¼ inches of taper per 10 ft of log length is allowed

Sweep:   Single sweep is permitted when a straight line from center of the butt to center of the top does  not vary more the 2 inches in 30 feet.  Double sweep is not permitted

Rot:   Heart rot and sapwood rot are not acceptable

Spiral:  Spiral grain cannot exceed one inch in ten inches of length.

Moisture:  The industry standard for dry wood is 20% moisture content or less.

Damage:    Excessive machine damage from loaders or processors is unacceptable.
